While I'm in the process of recoding the Carnival; still have a long ways to go. Rebuilding it from MercNet and have a LOT of ideas I wish to implement. Atleast the web site is about 90% done. Custom forums, home brewed wiki and so forth just about the only thing I wish to do is a home brewed blog system.
Anyways, I'm looking for a Mud to relax on. I'm not too picky about the difficulty, I tend to prefer Muds that require some work to become 'truly powerful'. But I do wish to be able to enter into the PK fray fairly quickly.
Anyways, I'm not really picky, just looking for a Mud with a few players to 'lose myself' on...
EDIT: Was just re-reading my post and I should clarify about the web page it's about 90% done in terms of going live... I know it doesn't matter to anybody else but that bastard CMS will never be complete in my eyes..

You're always welcome to hang out on GW2, Jindrak - there's a fairly reasonable (for a GW) playerbase, and if you just want to sit around and chat you can type 'home' to teleport to your private home plane (there's also a pretty cool competitive minigame called 'war' which you might like). There are a few other mud developers who log on occasionally as well, and it's always nice to catch up with what other people are working on.
The main game itself takes most people around 10-20 hours to class the first time (but it's more down to learning player skills than pumping up your character - a veteran player can easily class a new character in 3-4 hours). I'd suggest picking quickstart or one of the concepts rather than custom creation - characters can be redesigned freely at any time, but it's hard to build a decent character until you know the game. The classes are vampire, werewolf, mage, demon, dragon and titan, although each class can be played in a variety of ways (inspired by the class skill webs in Diablo2).

Poked around it a little bit today KaVir...will poke around more again when I have some time. Found you fairly welcoming, especially helping me with a naming issue. Didn't feel quite right announcing who I was...Mainly just looked around at your visual style while I was multi-tasking in other windows...
The 'war' thing actually sounds very appealing to me, mini-games are one of the things I wish to implement in my projects in time. I have the Travain Mud and notes I worked on a while back that I wanted to stick in as a mini-game. Mine had a more GW 1996 type feel to it though...

The war minigame was originally based on poker, with each player controlling a city of their mortal worshippers on another plane. This is an example of what it looks like in action: http://clanscw.brinkster.net/godwars/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2362
You can play the tutorial mode by typing 'war tutorial' while on your home plane. Tutorial mode has a 'suggest' command which tells you what the AI would do in your position, so you can use that to get a feel for what you should be doing. You can also type 'help war' for a more general introduction (the help files throughout the mud are pretty complete and up to date).
Note that everyone begins each war on equal footing, so it really is based on player skill, which means you can compete against established players without having to invest a lot of playing time. You do earn "glory" from the Great Wars (and there's also a weekly scoreboard), but glory is spent in the regular game and doesn't help you in war.
